Pegasus Binevenagh Mountain Race proves a success!
Last Saturday saw an unseasonably mild day for the 4th annual running of this local mountain race, the 1st round of the NI Mountain Running Grand Prix Series. The race course provided a mixture of terrain over a challenging 7.1 mile course which involved negotiating 530m of up-hill climbing. 42 entrants ensured there would be competition throughout the field, with Pegasus having Stephen O’Hara running in his debut mountain race (the home club missing NI Grand Prix age group winners Peter Bell and Jason Wilson due to injury).

Pegasus AC Binevenagh Mountain Race on its way!
Saturday 9th February will see the 4th annual running of this quite unique race to the local area, with the bonus of officially being the season opener in the Northern Ireland Mountain Running Grand Prix series.

Pegasus junior produces great Glenariff result!
Last Saturday saw Pegasus AC junior Jason Wilson attempt the Ballymena Runners promoted Glenariff Mountain race held in the picturesque Waterfoot village near Cushundall. The race is famous for giving away a bag of ‘Glens of Antrim’ potatoes for all those who enter the race, which led to record numbers this year of 71 brave souls!

Sole Pegasus AC member competes at NI Championships
The NI / Ulster Senior Cross Country Championships were held at its traditional venue around the University of Ulster (Coleraine) course. Conditions were near perfect for the big event, with the ground conditions nothing to be complained about at this time of year. Runners from over 11 clubs were competing. This is one of the longest cross country races in the UK, with a gruelling 6 LAPS of a 2km undulating course to challenge the best runners in Ulster to their maximum!

Lisburn AC cross-country promotion
On Saturday 13th January five Pegasus athletes made the trip from Coleraine to Moria for the Lisburn AC cross-country promotion.
With strong headwinds mixed with a bit of rain and boggy conditions underfoot it was ideal conditions for the mud lovers.

Race over the Glens 2007
Local athletes didn’t have to wait long for their first race of 2007 when Ballymena runners hosted their annual Race over the glens on new years day.
A tough and challenging course set off from glenarriff forest park at noon when most of the population were still recovering from the night before.
